More than ever

Now, more than ever, is the time for a positive attitude.

Exhaustion in their eyes

Walking down the streets,
looking left and right,
I see the exhaustion
in everybody's eyes.

Green with hope.
Blue with enthusiasm.
Brown from swallowing so much of our leader's crap.

Fed up. Fed up with a system that BANKS on societal idealism. Our system runs on the balance that people will do what is best for the group, before they do what is best for themselves. This idea in itself is not corrupt or incorrect. I believe it to the very CORE. But we went wrong when we allowed politicians and their consitutants to willy-nilly define the group.

Capitalism breeds money.
Money breeds greed.
Greed breeds isolation.
Isolation breeds smaller defined groups.
Smaller groups means less to "take care of".
Less to "take care of" means more for yourself.
More for yourself breeds Winter08
WAKE UP! BROADEN your world.
GAIN a larger perspective.
WE HAVE EVERYONE TO TAKE CARE OF!

"No society can surely be flourishing and happy when the greater part of the members are poor and miserable." John Adams 1723

Best Throw-back Lines

Here are a few of my "Throw-Back Lines".   It's called the throw-back line, because it is delivered moments after a strange man tries to pick you up.   One could say the opposite of a "Pick-Up Line", Best if smoothly delivered with a blend of quirky.

----------------
"honey. I've ditched far better men than you"

"You've got that super charming quality. And this quality, which would normally be considered "cute" to most women, is simply unattractive to me."

Geez, turn that down! That glow is deafening!

Laptop in my actual lap, as I lie in my bed, winding down with a little blogging before bedtime. My eyes squint from their long tired day. I can feel the shine of the monitor on my face, screaming at me to close up shop and rest. Geez, turn that thing down. That glow is deafening!

Tonight is the night I try a new face cream. Actually, they are patches pasted to my face with the hopes of gluing a new "youthful look" during the night. These must be fairy patches, going off to never never land in my dreams. Never never have I looked so tired.

Tired. Those words fall from my tongue and I grimace. I tried hard not to say that word. Tired. If you don't say it, then nobody thinks it. That's my motto.

So... here I am... saying the word to this glaring computer. The lines seem etched into the screen. Tired. Tired. Tired. If I say it any more, it won't mean anything to me. Tired.

Nope. No luck. Exhaustion has settled in, and my eyes win the battle for rest. Goodnight. Yawn. Good night. May I wake up with youth in my eyes.

People come to Vegas to hide

That’s right. I said it. It’s out. People come to Vegas to hide, doesn’t matter whether what we are hiding from is real or imaginary. We are all hiding from something.

Hiding from Real means you made a mistake somewhere along your life path. And someone, some corporation or some agency is trying to find you. This can range from “bad credit” , up to and as gruesome as “charged with thirty two counts of felony and on-the-run”. Real. Involving real people, real problems, real reality TV shit.

On the other side, there are the imaginary things we hide from. Imaginary things are much much harder to hide from than real things. They are the self-imposed fears, jealousy, biases, ignorance and close mindedness. It’s hard to hide from those. Because they are with you every moment of every day, living in a land called Morals, deep in the bowels of your soul. And it took me coming to Vegas, through all the highs and lows I have experienced here, to understand the difference. Because everything in Vegas is imaginary.

Easy to get lost here.

Time is my friend

Time is my friend... what a bizarre perspective. One that I have never tried on for size. But it fits well and looks great. I feel like I'm on an episode of "What Not to Wear" with Stacy and Clinton. Time is my friend. Time, now, exactly this moment, present, existance; all exactly what I need. Could I be more existential? Trying to explain something unexplanable.

Peace is found when time is your friend. Don't fight it... you can't. Instead, breath it in.. time.
